Strengths

  • Demonstrates good body control near the sideline and along the boundary in the end zone. Understands where he is on the field at all times.
  • Good kick returner. Shows excellent vision to find holes and make plays with the ball in his hands.
  • Attacks the ball in the air and has strong hands. Despite his six-foot frame, he makes a surprising number of plays on 50-50 balls.
  • Stretches the defense and gets behind coverage. Often gets defenders leaning the wrong way before coming out of his breaks.

Weaknesses

  • Injuries are a concern. Never played a full season at Maryland. Suffered a lacerated kidney in 2014.
  • Shies away from contact and it can affect his route running.
  • Struggles against press coverage and can get overpowered by defenders.
  • Discipline can be an issue. Diggs was suspended one game for pregame actions against Penn State in November.
