Special-teams ace Nate Stupar is returning to Atlanta for a second season.

The Falcons announced Tuesday that they signed Stupar to a contract extension. The deal is for one year, according to ESPN's Vaughn McClure.

The 6-foot-2, 240-pound linebacker spent time with the Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers and Jacksonville Jaguars before he was claimed off waivers by the Falcons in August 2014. He appeared in 15 games for Atlanta last season, finishing second on the team with nine special-teams tackles.
