Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin showed no remorse following Super Bowl XLIX for the strange touchdown celebration that drew a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty, telling reporters it was between him and the player it was directed at.

Two weeks later, Baldwin has changed his tune.

"In that moment it was just a reaction, and if I could go back, I would take it back," Baldwin told 710 ESPN Seattle on Monday.

Baldwin hauled in a 3-yard touchdown pass from Russell Wilson with 4:54 left in the third quarter to give the Seahawks a 24-14 lead over the New England Patriots. He then dropped the football, squatted over it and pretended to pull down his pants to simulate defecation. The action earned him an $11,025 fine.

"In that moment it was a spontaneous reaction to the course of the game," he said. "That's not typically me, but in that situation that's just what happened ... Personally I didn't mean anything by it negatively towards anybody. I do regret the fact that it cost my team 15 yards. And to the fans, ultimately I do apologize to anybody who I offended in any way."

Baldwin also revealed the target of the celebration: Patriots cornerback Darrelle Revis.

"It's a competitive situation, first and foremost. And as a competitor, when I'm out there on the field I block out everything other than the guy that's in front of me, what I'm supposed to be doing, what I'm supposed to be handling. That would be Darrelle Revis," Baldwin said. "I spent a lot of time those two weeks prior just focused on my individual matchup with him, and I put a lot into it."
