Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman played in Super Bowl XLIX against the New England Patriots with torn ligaments in his left elbow that may require Tommy John surgery, according to ESPN's John Clayton.
Sherman suffered the injury to his elbow in the NFC Championship Game, though he didn't miss a play in that game, didn't miss any practice time, and played the entire Super Bowl with the injury.
The injury did not appear to affect Sherman's play against the Patriots, though one would have to assume it is quite severe if reconstructive surgery is on the table.
