The Rex Ryan era is over in New York.
Jets owner Woody Johnson will fire the embattled head coach as well as general manager John Idzik on Monday, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
Idzik was named general manager in January 2013, but had a disastrous 23 months at the helm, failing to accrue quality personnel in two drafts.
Ryan went 45-51 in six seasons with the Jets, making a run to the AFC Championship game in his first two campaigns. However, the Jets missed the playoffs the past four seasons while Ryan gave his all to manage a group largely devoid of talent.
New York struggled again in large part due to Idzik's failures, stumbling to a 4-12 record.
