With a 30-yard completion to Golden Tate on Sunday afternoon, Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford became the quickest player in NFL history to reach 20,000 career passing yards.
Stafford threw for 5,038 yards in 2011, and has been at or near the top of the league in pass attempts each of the last three seasons. Stafford achieved the feat in 71 games and surpassed Dan Marino, who previously held the record after reaching the 20,000-yard mark in 74 career games.
Stafford was the No. 1 overall selection in the 2009 NFL Draft.
