It's not too often that a wide receiver gets the better of Seattle Seahawks star cornerback Richard Sherman, but the New York Giants' Odell Beckham Jr. came pretty close Sunday.

The Seahawks defeated the Giants 38-17, but the rookie had an excellent game, catching seven passes for 108 yards.

Beckham was primarily matched up against Sherman and was the Giants' leading receiver. The All-Pro corner was impressed, and doled out praise for his young opponent.

"Beckham is a great player," Sherman said after the game to reporters. "So they had to depend on him and take risks and take shots in games like this. He was able to get one earlier, which was a great play by him."

Sherman offered some advice to Beckham after the game.

“He was just like, ‘you’re the real deal. You’ve gotta keep working,’” Beckham said. “He was like, ‘you’re gonna be a great player. Just keep working.’”

Beckham is part of a rookie class that has taken the league by storm, and it won't be long before he becomes the headliner Sherman has evolved into.
