Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has set an NFL record by throwing for 12 touchdowns in a two-game span.

Roethlisberger's record-breaking pass came on a 33-yard hook-up with tight end Matt Spaeth in the waning moments of a 43-23 win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Roethlisberger threw for six touchdowns in Sunday night's game in Pittsburgh, a week after throwing six touchdowns in a 51-34 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Previously, no quarterback had ever thrown for more than 11 touchdowns in a two-game span - Tom Brady accomplished the feat in 2007, and Tom Flores did it in 1963.

Y.A. Tittle had been the only quarterback to throw for six touchdown passes in multiple games in the same season prior to Sunday.
