Percy Harvin was traded to the New York Jets on Friday afternoon, a move that shocked NFL fans and insiders alike.
More details have since emerged about the receiver's exit from Seattle, most notably that Harvin got into multiple physical altercations involving Seahawks teammates.
Before last February's Super Bowl, Harvin reportedly was involved in a confrontation with wide receiver Golden Tate, according to sources of The Seattle Times' Bob Condotta and Jayson Jenks. Tate reportedly suffered a black eye in the incident.
Harvin also reportedly scrapped with receiver Doug Baldwin in August ahead of a preseason game against the Oakland Raiders. Baldwin incurred a cut to his chin, according to The Seattle Times' sources, and both receivers were subsequently excused from that week's practices.
The Seahawks acquired Harvin from the Minnesota Vikings in March 2013 in exchange for first- and seventh-round draft picks in 2013, as well as a 2014 fourth-rounder.
Seattle then signed Harvin to a six-year, $67-million extension.
Harvin's game-breaking speed will be a welcome addition for the 1-6 Jets, but the Super Bowl champions will have to regroup without their most explosive playmaker.
