1987 - NFL players end strike after 24 days
After an unsuccessful month on the picket lines, NFL players vote to return to work with no collective bargaining agreement in place.
The move brings an end to 24 surreal days of empty stadiums and replacement players - or, as some preferred to call them, scabs.

"I didn't think any part of it was fun or funny or hilarious," former Vikings general manager Mike Lynn recalls. "It was embarrassing. It was a bad, bad part of the history of the National Football League. The relationship between owners and players should never come to something like that."
2012 - Ravens lose Webb, Lewis for season

The Baltimore Ravens announce that cornerback Lardarius Webb and linebacker Ray Lewis will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL and torn triceps, respectively.
"I'm disappointed for those guys," Ravens head coach John Harbaugh says. "It doesn't matter how I or someone else feels about it. It's their thing. These are guys that put so much heart and soul into what they do."
