Chicago Bears defensive end Jared Allen returned to work Monday after missing Sunday's game with pneumonia and is now focused on getting back to game shape.

"It was good to see him in the building, good to see him in all the meetings," head coach Marc Trestman said, via the team's official website. "He got some work in the weight room. That's encouraging."

Allen is considered day-to-day, but told ESPN's Ed Werder that in order to play against the Carolina Panthers, he must regain the 12 pounds he lost while battling pneumonia.
