The New York Jets' 24-17 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday was a tough one for Jets quarterback Geno Smith, who completed 17-of-33 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown with an interception. He also lost a fumble.

After the game, Smith let his emotions get the best of him, looking into the stands at shouting "F--- you":

Credit should be given to Smith for admitting his mistake and apologizing.

Jets head coach Rex Ryan has remained committed to his young pivot from West Virginia even through his struggles, but he'll face a serious uphill battle with the New York media if outbursts like this continue.
