Jerry Jones comes to Roger Goodell's defense

Roger Goodell has found an ally in Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

Goodell has been criticized for the league's mishandling of the Ray Rice investigation, and the outspoken Jones defended the NFL commissioner in an interview Friday.

"He's been a very good commissioner," Jones said to CBS Radio's 105.3 The Fan.

"He's acknowledged that he's mishandled this, and he's said that he'll do better in the future. He can and I believe he will."

The Cowboys owner has also come under fire this week, as he was accused of sexual assault in a lawsuit filed Tuesday.

Jones isn't the first person to support Goodell, as Redskins owner Dan Snyder issued a statement supporting the commissioner Saturday.
