Report: Changes to domestic violence punishments could come as early as next month
Reports surfaced earlier this week indicating that the NFL was looking into expanding their punishments for domestic violence issues, and according to Jane McManus of ESPN.com, those changes could be coming as soon as next month.
According to a source with knowledge of the situation, the league is consulting experts and looking into revamping their discipline policy in regards to domestic violence.
Many fans were outraged when Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice received a only two-game suspension in July after being arrested for assaulting his then-fiancee, now wife, Janay.
The league currently does not have a specific policy on domestic violence and according to another source, they have yet to contact the player's association about changing the system.
