Chris Johnson's release by the Tennessee Titans, the worst kept secret in the league, will reportedly be happening sooner rather than later.
No great surprise, but Titans are releasing RB Chris Johnson today, per source close to situation. Johnson will be a free agent.

RB Chris Johnson is in Nashville taking a physical. Sked to meet with #Titans GM Ruston Webster afterward. Again, release coming

Johnson wasn't likely to survive the week on the Titans' roster as the team starts offseason workouts on April 7, and Tennessee wouldn't want to take the risk of him being injured and then having to pay him his salary for the season.
The Titans have been shopping Johnson for sometime now, but haven't had any takers thanks to his massive $10-million cap hit.
