Mark Who?
After a terrible campaign in 2012, and an injury in preseason, former franchise quarterback Mark Sanchez seems to have dropped out of the lexicon of the New York Jets.
Geno Smith was thrown into the mix as a result and the team finished 8-8, out of the playoffs, but knowing that head coach Rex Ryan will be back next year.
So, according to cornerback Antonio Cromartie, the 8-8 Smith, who threw for 3,046 yards, who had 12 touchdowns but 21 interceptions, who finished in dead last among starters with a 66.5 quarterback rating - he's the future of the franchise.
Here's what Cromartie told the New York Daily News:
“I honestly think he is. I think just the way he handles himself, he handled himself as a true professional when he’s in the office,” Cromartie said. “He’s in early in the morning – 5:30, 5:45 in the morning – he doesn’t leave until 7 at night; trying to understand defenses and understand where he needs to get better at.”
