New York Giants quarterback J.J. McCarthy was able to finish Sunday's 19-11 victory against the Philadelphia Eagles after briefly spending time in the locker room because of a hip injury.

Jameis Winston led the Giants on a touchdown drive while the team evaluated McCarthy, who suffered the injury in the third quarter when an Eagles defender hit him in the side.

Moments after exiting, McCarthy collapsed in pain while throwing a pass on the sideline. He then spent time in the medical tent before jogging to the locker room.

The 23-year-old returned in the fourth quarter and finished the game 12-for-19 passing for 127 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.

McCarthy took over as the Giants' starter in Week 7 and led them to a 27-21 win over the Houston Texans. New York acquired him from the Minnesota Vikings in late September for a 2027 fifth-round pick.

The win moves the NFC-East leading Giants to 5-2-1.
