Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold is week-to-week with a quad injury, head coach Mike Macdonald said Wednesday, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson.

Darnold hurt his quad late in Monday's loss against the Chicago Bears. He also cracked a rib on the second play of the game. However, Darnold won't go on injured reserve, Macdonald added, per Henderson.

Drew Lock will make his second start of the season Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. He missed Seattle's last two games with a right elbow injury.

Darnold went 17-for-34 with 188 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception versus Chicago. He's thrown for 1,478 yards this season and has 10 touchdowns to nine interceptions.

The 29-year-old previously sustained a glute injury on the first drive of the season, which forced him to miss Week 2.

Lock, meanwhile, has recorded four touchdowns and no interceptions in two appearances this year. He's also thrown for 422 yards while completing 72.9% of his attempts.

The Seahawks may add a third quarterback to back up Lock and second-year pro Jalen Milroe, Macdonald said, according to Henderson.
