Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was ruled out of Sunday's 36-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills after injuring his right thumb on his first snap of the game.

Tyler Huntley replaced Jackson but exited in the second quarter with a toe injury and was later ruled out.

Joe Fagnano, an undrafted rookie out of UConn, entered the game as the emergency third quarterback after Huntley left.

Fagnano hadn't attempted an NFL pass before entering Sunday's contest. Last season, he threw for 3,488 yards with 28 touchdowns and one interception for UConn.

Jackson injured his hand when it hit a Buffalo Bills defender. He quickly went to the sideline to talk to the trainers, then headed to the locker room.

Jackson had just returned to the starting lineup after missing the last three contests with an ankle injury.

Baltimore fell to 4-4 with the loss and remains in last place in the AFC North. The Ravens have a quick turnaround, with their Week 9 contest coming on Thursday Night Football against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
