The Chicago Bears will start quarterback Case Keenum against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football, Jay Glazer reported on Fox Sports' pregame show Sunday.
Tyson Bagent will serve as Keenum's backup, Glazer adds. Bagent was in concussion protocol this week, but he's since cleared the process and fully practiced on Saturday.
Top signal-caller Caleb Williams has been ruled out after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 2. He was carted off the field with just over six minutes remaining in the 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Williams was diagnosed with a Grade 2 hamstring injury, which has a reported three-to-four-week recovery timeline. However, the third-year quarterback could return earlier, though he sat out practice all week, and the Bears haven't confirmed when he'll be back.
Keenum hasn't started an NFL game since the 2023 season when he was with the Houston Texans. He went 1-1 in two starts that year, throwing for 291 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions. Keenum's best campaign came in 2017, leading the Minnesota Vikings to the NFC Championship Game after going 11-3 in the regular season.
The 38-year-old has 66 career starts, throwing for 15,175 yards with 79 touchdowns and 51 interceptions.
