Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Keenan Allen was arrested early Sunday morning on suspected drunk driving, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, via Nathan Brown and Joel A. Erickson of the Indianapolis Star.
The 34-year-old faces preliminary misdemeanor charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (OVWI) and OVWI endangering a person.
Allen was arrested around 1 a.m. ET, not long after making his Colts preseason debut. The police report says officers found him in a vehicle sitting in a no-parking zone, and noticed signs of intoxication while speaking to him.
"We are aware of the incident involving Keenan Allen last night," the Colts said in a statement. "We are in the process of gathering more information and have no further comment at this time."
Allen, a decorated player with six career Pro Bowl selections, signed a one-year deal with the Colts in mid-August. He caught one pass for 24 yards in Saturday's preseason finale against the Detroit Lions.
