The Miami Dolphins are trading quarterback Quinn Ewers to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a 2028 sixth-round pick, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Ewers, selected in the seventh round of the 2025 draft out of Texas, started the final three games of his rookie season after the Dolphins benched Tua Tagovailoa.

The 23-year-old went 1-2 in those starts and finished the year with 55 completions on 83 pass attempts for 622 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions.

Miami now has Cam Miller and Mark Gronowski on the quarterback depth chart behind Malik Willis before it has to post a 53-man roster on Sunday.

Jacksonville has been calling teams looking for a quarterback to potentially be Trevor Lawrence's backup this season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Carter Bradley, Nick Mullens, and rookie Joey Aguilar are listed behind Lawrence on the depth chart.
