Brandon Aiyuk's overt interest in joining the Washington Commanders took another dramatic twist Saturday after the wide receiver took shots at quarterback Jayden Daniels on social media.

Aiyuk posted three Instagram stories apparently in response to reports that Daniels' approval was necessary for the Commanders to add the disgruntled wideout amid a messy fallout with the San Francisco 49ers.

"You on my team now," Aiyuk said in one video. "You follow my rules. Boy, I'm a grown ass man, boy. You gonna have to stop running your mama and I might believe what you’re talking about. But until then, (no)."

Aiyuk's next story was a video with no audio featuring a caption that read "Let’s run it 5! Let's see! Need you available all (season) and I'll do the same!"

Daniels later posted an image of NBA superstar Kevin Durant posing with two thumbs down to his story, and has stopped following Aiyuk on the platform. Aiyuk has also apparently unfollowed Daniels.

Aiyuk and Daniels were teammates at Arizona State in 2019.

Aiyuk has made several social media posts during the offseason expressing his desire to sign in Washington. Aiyuk can't join a new team until he's released by the 49ers, who voided approximately $27 million of 2026 guarantees in Aiyuk's contract.

The 28-year-old hasn't played since sustaining ACL and MCL tears in a Week 7 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2024 campaign.
