Seahawks expect Emmanwori to play in Super Bowl despite low ankle sprain

The Seattle Seahawks expect defensive back Nick Emmanwori to play in Super Bowl LX even though he suffered a low ankle sprain at practice Wednesday, head coach Mike Macdonald told reporters Thursday.

"He's doing great and moving around," Macdonald said, according to Seahawks writer John Boyle. "We just gotta make sure we handle it the right way. We're probably going to be overcareful."

Macdonald added that Emmanwori will participate in Thursday's walkthrough, but the coach wasn't sure to what extent. Emmanwori was officially listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice after leaving toward the end of the session.

He's a crucial part of Seattle's secondary with 89 tackles, 15 passes defended, and one interception in 16 total games. He lines up all over the field and has also posted nine tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks this season.

The 21-year-old rookie had one of the best performances of his career in the NFC Championship Game, allowing just two catches on five targets for 8 yards with three forced incompletions, according to PFF. The South Carolina product was selected 35th overall in the 2025 draft.
