Report: Commanders' Daniels out for MNF vs. Chiefs
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels won't play Monday against the Kansas City Chiefs due to a low-grade hamstring strain, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Daniels suffered the injury in the third quarter of Sunday's 44-22 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
As a result, Marcus Mariota will reportedly be the Commanders' starting quarterback at Arrowhead Stadium.
Daniels, the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year, missed two games earlier this season due to a knee injury. The 24-year-old has scored eight touchdowns and thrown for 1,031 yards so far this year.
Mariota tallied three touchdowns and 363 yards in his two starts this season. Washington went 1-1 in those games. The 31-year-old replaced Daniels in last weekend's tilt against Dallas and threw a pick-6 to DaRon Bland on his first drive.
