Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert has been ruled out for Sunday's Super Bowl LIX rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs due to a knee injury, the team announced Friday.
Goedert is dealing with a knee sprain and didn't practice all week. However, the team doesn't consider the injury to be a long-term issue, according to Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94WIP.
The veteran tight end led the Eagles in targets (7) and receptions (7) while posting 44 receiving yards in Philadelphia's Week 1 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Goedert is coming off a 2024 campaign in which he missed seven regular-season games due to injury. He's struggled to stay healthy throughout his career, failing to play a full season since his rookie year in 2018.
Grant Calcaterra and Kylen Granson are set to fill in for Goedert as the other two tight ends on the Eagles' roster.
