Packers' Reed's Week 1 status unclear due to reported sprained foot
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed is dealing with a sprained left foot, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Reed was spotted in a walking boot during Saturday's preseason game against the New York Jets. Head coach Matt LaFleur said after the contest that there's potentially concern for Reed to miss the season opener.
"Hopefully we'll get him (Reed) back before the regular season," LaFleur told reporters. "I think anytime you see a guy in a boot, that's a concern."
Reed missed the start of training camp due to a toe injury on his right foot. The current foot injury occurred after he cut wrong in practice after returning from the toe ailment.
"I don't feel like I really even got started, honestly," Reed said of how his training camp has gone so far. "If you ask me, I don't really even think I got started."
Reed is among several Packers wideouts who are currently dealing with injuries. Christian Watson, who suffered a torn ACL in January, is not expected to be ready for the start of the season. Dontayvion Wicks has missed a large portion of camp due to an ailment, and rookie Savion Williams didn't play Saturday while nursing a shoulder injury.
The 25-year-old Reed has been the Packers' leading receiver in back-to-back campaigns. He has 1,650 receiving yards and 17 total touchdowns in 33 career games.
