Browns list Shedeur as QB4 on initial depth chart

The Cleveland Browns' initial depth chart has been released for the start of the 2025 preseason, and it appears Shedeur Sanders is facing an uphill battle for playing time in his rookie campaign.

Sanders found himself fourth on the list at quarterback, behind veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett, while also trailing fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel.

It's certainly not a surprise to see the Colorado star fall behind Flacco and Pickett, but the fact Gabriel is QB3 is fairly notable. That duo created arguably the most talked-about point from the draft as the Browns took the former Oregon star in the third round before finally stopping Sanders' slide in the fifth.

The daily reports from training camp have highlighted plenty of strong moments from both passers, but for the time being it seems Gabriel has remained ahead of Sanders in the eyes of the Browns' staff.

The depth chart wasn't the only piece of quarterback news from the Browns on Monday, as ESPN's Adam Schefter reported former Pro Bowler Tyler Huntley has signed with the club to give them another arm throughout camp.

Cleveland opens its preseason on Friday in Charlotte against the Carolina Panthers before facing the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams to wrap up the schedule.
