San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch told reporters Tuesday that the team isn't "anywhere close" to a timeline on wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk's return from a torn ACL, according to NBC Sports' Matt Maiocco.

Aiyuk got hurt in a contest against the Kansas City Chiefs this past October. Lynch added that the team is encouraged by the wideout's rehab, considering he "did a lot to his knee," per Maiocco.

The 27-year-old was the subject of trade rumors this offseason, as San Francisco reportedly discussed a deal involving the wide receiver with multiple teams. Aiyuk signed a four-year, $120-million contract in August 2024 following a lengthy contract dispute.

Aiyuk is expected to be the 49ers' top wide receiver when he returns from injury. He's been with the Niners since they selected him in the first round of the 2020 draft.

Wide receiver Jauan Jennings, who reportedly wants to be traded if the 49ers don't give him a contract extension, was in attendance for the start of camp. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said the 28-year-old hasn't formally requested a move out of San Francisco, according to Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle.

"We anticipate him being out there," Lynch said of Jennings. "You guys know our feelings about JJ. He embodies what we think a Niner's all about. Plays the right way and we love him. We're not going to talk about contracts and all that, but we love him, and he's here."

San Francisco added depth to its wide receiver room Tuesday by signing veteran Equanimeous St. Brown. The six-year veteran enjoyed his best season in 2022, when he caught 21 passes for 323 yards and one touchdown.
