Detroit Lions defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike will miss the 2025 season after undergoing ACL surgery, head coach Dan Campbell announced Sunday.
Detroit had placed Onwuzurike on the physically unable to perform list earlier this week.
The 27-year-old re-signed with the Lions on a one-year, $5.5-million contract in March. He's spent his entire career in Detroit after being drafted in the second round in 2021.
This will mark the second year of Onwuzurike's NFL career that he'll miss a full season. He also sat out the 2022 campaign due to a back injury.
Onwuzurike set a career high in quarterback hits (13) and sacks (1.5) last season while suiting up for over 60% of the team's defensive snaps.
