Washington will host the 2027 NFL Draft at the National Mall in D.C., the league announced Monday.
Denver also submitted a bid to host the 2027 draft.
Washington recently reached a deal to return the franchise to D.C., with a new stadium planned to open in 2030. The team has played in Maryland since the 1997 season.
It's the latest move in a dramatic franchise turnaround since Josh Harris took over as owner in 2023. The Commanders made the NFC Championship Game last season for the first time in 33 years after drafting star quarterback Jayden Daniels and hiring head coach Dan Quinn.
This year's event took place in Green Bay, while Pittsburgh is set to host the 2026 draft.
