The Dallas Cowboys hired Arizona Cardinals offensive line coach Klayton Adams to be their new offensive coordinator, the team announced Saturday.
He'll join new head coach Brian Schottenheimer's staff. Dallas also hired former Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus to be its defensive coordinator earlier this week.
Schottenheimer spent the last two seasons as the Cowboys' offensive coordinator under former head coach Mike McCarthy. He'll be the team's offensive play-caller heading into the 2025 campaign.
Adams was the Cardinals' offensive line coach for the last two seasons. He previously held multiple assistant roles on the Indianapolis Colts' staff. The 41-year-old also spent several years at the collegiate level, including a stint as Colorado's co-offensive coordinator in 2018. This will be his first NFL OC job.
Arizona had a top-10 rushing attack in both seasons Adams was on its offensive coaching staff. The Cardinals boasted the NFL's seventh-ranked rushing offense and averaged the second-most yards per attempt this season.
Rico Dowdle led Dallas in rushing with 1,079 yards (nearly 800 more than his closest teammate) and five total touchdowns in 2024. He's set to be a free agent this offseason.
