Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Jordan Whitehead was placed on the non-football injury list after being involved in a car crash, the team announced Saturday.
The Buccaneers signed safety Ryan Neal to the active roster in a corresponding move.
Whitehead returned from a four-game absence last week against the Carolina Panthers and tallied eight total tackles. The 27-year-old has 79 total tackles and three pass deflections in 12 starts this season.
Tampa Bay will secure the NFC South with a win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. A victory and a Los Angeles Rams loss will earn the Bucs the NFC's No. 3 seed.
