Jacksonville head coach Doug Pederson isn't concerned about his future after the Jaguars fell to 0-4 with a loss against the Houston Texans on Sunday.
"My status? No," Pederson said when asked if he's worried he'll get fired, according to Michael DiRocco of ESPN.
He added: "That's kind of a weird question, but OK."
The Jaguars lost 24-20 after holding a three-point lead with under three minutes remaining. Houston drove 69 yards down the field on its final drive to score the game-winning touchdown with 18 seconds left.
Jacksonville was outgained by over 100 yards in the contest and has failed to eclipse 21-plus points this season. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence is completing less than 54% of his throws while averaging only 182 passing yards per game.
Offensive coordinator Press Taylor has been the full-time play-caller this season, and Pederson doesn't plan to change that anytime soon.
"For what? I thought he called a great game," Pederson said when asked if he'll consider taking over as play-caller. "As coaches, we can't go out there and make the plays. It's a two-way street.
"So you guys can sit here and point the finger all you want, and it's fine. Point it right at me, I can take it. OK. I can take it so whatever you want. Ask me, say whatever, write, go ahead."
Pederson is now 18-20 in 38 regular-season games as Jacksonville's head coach. The team will face off against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5.
