Williams bounced as OROY favorite after 2 games
Odds and data via theScore Bet and ESPN Bet
Caleb Williams has lost his position atop the Offensive Rookie of the Year oddsboard after only two games.
The first overall pick was the +140 favorite (41.7% implied probability) before Week 1. But after the Bears' 1-1 start, in which Williams has looked like a rookie trying to figure out the NFL, his odds have lengthened to +350 (22.2% implied probability), putting him in third place behind Jayden Daniels and Marvin Harrison Jr.
Williams passed for just 93 yards in Chicago's season-opening victory over the Titans and completed only 48.2% of his passes. In Week 2, he struggled against the Texans, throwing two interceptions while taking seven sacks in his Sunday Night Football debut.
The former USC Trojan has yet to throw a touchdown, and his quarterback rating of 53 puts him ahead of only Bo Nix and Bryce Young.
Despite his slow start, Williams is still getting plenty of love from bettors. He's received 44.7% of the bets and 19.01% of the handle (money wagered) on the OROY market since Sept. 9.
Meanwhile, Daniels' odds have shortened from +600 to +275 (26.7% implied probability). The Commanders' rookie quarterback has thrown for 410 yards, rushed for 132, and scored two touchdowns on the ground to begin his career. He's looked far more comfortable than Williams in his leap to the NFL thus far.
Co-favorite Harrison also skyrocketed up the oddsboard after his monstrous Week 2 effort. After a quiet first game against the Bills, the wide receiver racked up 130 receiving yards and two touchdowns versus the Rams and showed everyone why the Cardinals made him the first wideout selected in the 2024 draft.
