Cleveland Browns safety Rodney McLeod says the 2024 season will be his final campaign in the NFL after returning to the franchise on a one-year deal this offseason.
"This is the last lap for me. It's been a long career," McLeod said on NFL Network, according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.
"I'm looking forward to rocking out with my teammates this year, giving it all, and hopefully ending up where we want to be, which is the last dance at the end of the year."
The St. Louis Rams signed McLeod as an undrafted free agent in 2012. He ultimately became a key pillar of the Rams' defense in his second season and started 48 straight games from 2013-2015.
McLeod signed a five-year, $35-million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2016 and helped the club defeat the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. After spending six campaigns in Philadelphia, he played one year with the Indianapolis Colts before landing with the Browns in 2023.
The 33-year-old played in 10 games last year, including five starts, and tallied 29 tackles.
"This year is finishing unfinished business," McLeod said.
McLeod boasts 61 passes defended, 18 interceptions, and 718 tackles in 166 career games.
