The New York Jets are expected to try to trade quarterback Zach Wilson this offseason, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Wilson was told when he was benched after Week 11 that the club plans to move him following the 2023 season, sources told Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

The 24-year-old Wilson will miss the team's season finale against the New England Patriots due to a concussion he suffered in Week 15. The Jets placed Wilson on injured reserve Saturday.

Wilson took over the starting job this season after quarterback Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles in the season opener. He went 3-6 in nine starts with five touchdowns and 11 turnovers before being benched for Tim Boyle.

The BYU product was back as the starter after a two-game absence. Wilson was reportedly hesitant to return as the starter after being benched, but he ultimately denied the reports.

Wilson was selected second overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. Trey Lance, Justin Fields, and Mac Jones were the three signal-callers chosen in the first round after Wilson.

The Utah native is 12-21 in 33 career starts, throwing for 6,293 yards with 23 touchdowns and 25 interceptions.
