If the Chicago Bears decide to move on from Justin Fields and use the No. 1 pick on his replacement, they could get significant trade value for the quarterback.

Fields could be worth a second- or third-round pick in a pre-draft trade, league evaluators told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Chicago locked up the top selection in the 2024 draft after the Carolina Panthers suffered their 14th defeat of the season in Week 17. The Panthers sent the Bears their 2024 first-rounder as part of a blockbuster trade to move up to No. 1 last year for quarterback Bryce Young.

Bears fans attending Sunday's 37-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons made it clear they want Fields to stay.

"Chicago Bears fans, definitely No. 1 in the world," Fields said after the game, according to Yahoo Sports' Alyssa Barbieri. "Just know I love you all. We love you all as a team. … I've made a big emphasis on living in the present. I'll definitely remember this game for the rest of my life."

The Bears could get more draft value by trading the No. 1 pick again instead of Fields.

Chicago received Carolina's first-round selection at No. 9, wide receiver D.J. Moore, a second-round pick, a 2024 first-round selection, and a 2025 second-round pick.

With top 2024 quarterback prospects Caleb Williams and Drake Maye arguably more well-regarded than Young, the Bears could ask for an even bigger haul.

Fields, a 2021 first-rounder, has shown improvement during 12 appearances in his third season. He's completed 61% of his passes for 2,414 yards and 16 touchdowns against nine interceptions while adding 630 yards and four scores on the ground.

However, there are still questions about the former Ohio State star's viability as a franchise-caliber starter. Fields ranks 22nd in QBR (46.3) and yards per attempt (6.8), 28th in success rate (38.2%), and 30th in sack rate (9.9%).
