Ravens' Andrews likely out for season, sustained ankle injury vs. Bengals

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews sustained a "very serious" ankle injury that appears to be a season-ending ailment, head coach John Harbaugh said following the team's 34-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

An MRI revealed that Andrews suffered a cracked fibula and an ankle ligament injury, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Andrews was injured while being tackled after hauling in a first-quarter pass from Lamar Jackson. His ankle appeared to twist as he was brought to the ground.

The star pass-catcher limped off the field under his own power before heading to the locker room. He was seen heading into the X-ray room on crutches, according to the Amazon Prime broadcast.

Andrews, a three-time Pro Bowler, recorded two catches for 23 yards before being forced out of the contest.

The 28-year-old entered Thursday's game with 43 receptions for 521 yards and six touchdowns. He ranks second on the team in receptions and yards behind rookie wideout Zay Flowers, but leads the club in receiving scores.

Harbaugh added that wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. sustained a shoulder injury in the victory that the team doesn't think is too bad, per The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec.
