Dolphins' Waddle in concussion protocol
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle entered concussion protocol, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Waddle was evaluated for a concussion after taking a big hit late in the club's Sunday night victory over the New England Patriots. He didn't return to the contest. The 24-year-old had a team-high 86 yards on four receptions before Miami ruled him out.
Waddle will have several days to clear protocol ahead of the Dolphins' next game, a Sunday afternoon showdown against the 0-2 Denver Broncos in Miami.
Through two contests, Waddle has eight catches on 11 targets for 164 yards. He hasn't scored a touchdown this season.
Waddle posted back-to-back seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards, including a 1,356-yard campaign last year. The speedster has tallied 187 receptions, 2,535 yards, and 14 touchdowns over 35 career games.
