Saints, Ruiz agree to 4-year extension reportedly worth up to $46M
The New Orleans Saints and guard Cesar Ruiz agreed to a four-year contract extension through the 2027 season, the team announced Saturday.
Terms of the deal weren't officially disclosed. Ruiz's pact is worth up to $46 million, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. It reportedly also has a base value of $44 million and contains $30 million guaranteed.
The 24-year-old has been a mainstay on the Saints' offensive line since being drafted in the first round in 2020. He has started 40 games and appeared in six more over the last three seasons.
Ruiz's 2022 campaign was cut short due to a foot injury, but he's on course to be healthy for the start of the 2023 season.
The guard was set to become a free agent in 2024 after New Orleans opted not to pick up his fifth-year option.
