The Arizona Cardinals are hiring Philadelphia Eagles linebackers coach Nick Rallis as their new defensive coordinator, sources told Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

At 29 years old, Rallis will become the NFL's youngest coordinator, added Pelissero.

Multiple teams reportedly attempted to lure Rallis after he received an offer from Arizona, but he opted to follow Jonathan Gannon, who previously was the Eagles' defensive coordinator before being hired by the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Rallis played linebacker at Minnesota from 2013-16, racking up 65 total tackles and one sack. He was hired by Wake Forest as a quality control coach in 2017 before jumping to the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings the following year.

After three seasons with the Vikings, Rallis joined the Eagles as their linebackers coach in 2021.

Arizona also interviewed New England Patriots defensive line coach DeMarcus Covington and Chicago Bears linebackers coach Dave Borgonzi for the role.
