Schultz: Teeing up Tuesday's trade deadline

The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 4 p.m. ET. Below, theScore's NFL insider Jordan Schultz checks in with what he's hearing around the league after a busy week of deals.

Impact of Toney to KC

The Chiefs made a ton of noise Thursday by trading for 2021 first-rounder Kadarius Toney.

It was a move lauded by those around the league I spoke with, including one general manager, who said: "It's almost unfair. He's so fast and so elusive. You add that to what they've already got with the quarterback. Potentially a great addition."

Packers seeking WR

The Packers continue their search for a wide receiver. Veteran Randall Cobb is on injured reserve, rookie Christian Watson has had a hamstring issue, and Romeo Doubs has been up and down.

"I do think they'll make a move," one personnel staffer told me. "I'm not sure how aggressive they'll be, but I'd like to see a downfield threat for (Aaron) Rodgers. They could also go with a veteran like A.J. Green. They like bigger receivers."

Chubb on the move?

Bradley Chubb is a target for multiple teams, sources say. And Denver is willing to trade the Pro Bowl pass-rusher. Where things get complicated: Chubb, 26, and his agent essentially have all the control. No team is going to trade many assets for him without a guarantee he signs a long-term extension.

Raiders to watch

Raiders safety Johnathan Abram and defensive end Clelin Ferrell are two names to keep an eye on. Both former first-round picks of the Jon Gruden-Mike Mayock regime, neither had their fifth-year options picked up. I've been told there's a better market for Abram, who's still only 26 and recorded career highs in tackles (116) and tackles for loss (five) last season. He's essentially the team's third safety right now, but his versatility as an additional box linebacker hasn't gone unnoticed. Abram blitzes and tackles very well, and from what I've been told, there's a real shot he gets moved.

Quick hits

• Reiterating what I reported Thursday night, sources say there's essentially zero chance the Panthers trade wide receiver D.J. Moore. Like Brian Burns on the defensive side of the ball, Moore is too good a player. He's only 25 years old, and with three straight 1,100-yard seasons, he's too valuable to trade, even during a rebuild.

• The Steelers have had an influx of calls for Chase Claypool, but my sense remains GM Omar Khan would prefer to hang on to the talented wide receiver.

• We've talked a lot about a pair of Broncos receivers: Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler. Both have drawn interest, although sources say Hamler might be easier to move because of his lower asking price. "He's as fast as they come, and everyone wants speed," a scout told me. Bottom line: I'd be surprised if GM George Paton doesn't pull the trigger on one of them. With this season quickly going south and the Russell Wilson-led offense in shambles, it may be time to pull the rip cord.
