Top NFL draft prospect David Ojabo suffered a torn Achilles during his Michigan pro day Friday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The linebacker was widely expected to be a first-round selection following a standout career with the Wolverines.
Ojabo's doctors "expect a full and complete recovery" with a projected timeline of around six months, writes Schefter.
The 21-year-old pass-rusher expressed optimism about his recovery in a tweet Friday:
God got me!! ima be back stronger than ever🖤all part of my story.

Ojabo was a key part of the defense that led Michigan to the first playoff appearance in program history and the first Big Ten championship of the Jim Harbaugh era last season. He ranked second on the team in sacks (11) and tackles for loss (12).
He boosted his draft stock even further with a strong performance at the NFL Scouting Combine in March, highlighted by a 4.55-second 40-yard dash.
Ojabo was born in Nigeria and raised in Scotland. He only began playing football a few years before arriving at Ann Arbor.
Ojabo's injury may not substantially diminish his draft value. Former Vanderbilt pass-rusher Dayo Odeyingbo - who was also viewed as a possible first-rounder - tore his Achilles in January 2021, but the Indianapolis Colts selected him in the second round.
