New Orleans Saints quarterback Taysom Hill sat out the second half of Sunday's win over the Atlanta Falcons due to a Lisfranc injury, head coach Sean Payton told FOX Sports.

Hill went to the locker room in the second quarter and never returned. Trevor Siemian, who made four starts earlier in the season, replaced Hill. Siemian threw two touchdowns, propelling the Saints to a 30-20 victory.

New Orleans needed a win plus a San Francisco 49ers loss to make the playoffs. While the Saints did their part, the Los Angeles Rams couldn't hold off the 49ers, who prevailed in overtime to clinch the NFC's last available postseason spot.

Foot problems plagued Hill for much of the season, as he previously battled plantar fasciitis.

The Saints used four different quarterbacks to get through the season, with Jameis Winston, Siemian, and Hill making at least four starts each. Rookie Ian Book also started one game.
