Saints cleared to return home for Week 4
The Saints are coming - home.
New Orleans had to play its Week 1 home opener in Jacksonville due to damage resulting from Hurricane Ida in August, but authorities have now cleared the club to return to Caesars Superdome for next week's game against the New York Giants.
"The Governor welcomes the Saints games back to New Orleans and appreciates the NFL and other teams working to accommodate the team in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida," Christina Stephens, spokesperson for Louisiana governor John Bel Edwards, told NFL.com's Tom Pelissero.
A three-alarm fire broke out on the Superdome's roof on Tuesday, but it resulted in only superficial damage.
The Saints had been practicing in Texas before traveling for road games in Weeks 2 and 3. The squad will visit the New England Patriots on Sunday.
The last contest New Orleans played in its home stadium was January's divisional playoff loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
