Super Bowl odds update: Chargers, Vikings trending up after Week 3 wins

After a wild week in which the top two Super Bowl favorites both lost, the top of the oddsboard remains mostly unchanged from the beginning of the season. Yet a few teams made their case as dark-horse contenders, while others fell out of the race following an uninspiring start.

Here are the current Super Bowl odds at theScore Bet and a few teams whose fate changed in oddsmakers' minds after Week 3:

Trending up

Green Bay Packers (+1200)

The Packers opened the season at 12-1, so perhaps this is less of a team "trending up" and more of a return to what many expected entering the year. Still, after a worrying Week 1 loss to the Saints and a late surge against the struggling Lions, Green Bay fell to eighth in the Super Bowl market with 16-1 odds a week ago.

That changed with Sunday's win over the 49ers, who settled just behind the Packers in this week's revised board. Things should get easier from here on for Aaron Rodgers and Co., who face three teams with losing records over the next four weeks.

Los Angeles Chargers (+2600)

How about a win over the Super Bowl favorites to boost your title stock? The Chargers entered this week in a pivotal spot after blowing last week's loss to the Cowboys in the final seconds - and they nearly blew this one, too, surrendering 17 unanswered points across the second and third quarters.

Instead, Justin Herbert rallied his side to a game-winning touchdown with 32 seconds left, moving the Chargers' odds from 40-1 to 26-1 and potentially exorcising their late-game demons along the way.

Minnesota Vikings (+3700)

The Vikings could easily be 3-0 after botching winnable games through the first two weeks. They didn't let up in Week 3, blanking the Seahawks in the second half of a 30-17 win that wasn't as close as the final score suggests.

Is it enough to believe in Minnesota again? This group entered the year as a 40-1 title long shot before slipping to 60-1 a week ago, so this price suggests that we haven't learned much about this team after an inconsistent three weeks. We may not get clarity until November when the Vikings face the Ravens, Chargers, Packers, and 49ers in consecutive weeks.

New England Patriots (+5000)

Is Mac Jones ready to lead this team on a Super Bowl run? That's the question hanging over Patriots futures bettors after the rookie quarterback recorded three interceptions against the Saints, which dropped this team's title price from 30-1 to 50-1.

New England's defense also regressed after two strong weeks to open the year, and it'll face its toughest test of the season on Sunday against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. This team's odds will likely be on the move after that contest - one way or the other.

Pittsburgh Steelers (+7000)

It might be time for Ben Roethlisberger to finally hang up the cleats. The Steelers quarterback threw for 318 yards and a touchdown on a whopping 58 attempts but tossed two bad interceptions to Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson, swinging Sunday's 24-10 loss to Pittsburgh's division rival.

Oddsmakers are finally throwing in the towel, moving this group from 40-1 to 70-1 - the single-biggest move of the week among teams shorter than 100-1. The schedule doesn't let up for the Steelers, who are already battling a rash of injuries to key stars.

Chicago Bears (+10000)

So much for the Justin Fields experiment turning the Bears' season around. Chicago's first-round pick was even worse than his predecessor, finishing Sunday's blowout loss to the Browns with six completions for 68 yards. Cleveland also sacked Fields nine times.

The Bears' odds tumbled from 60-1 to 100-1 as a result, and an 0-3 hole in the NFC North looks nearly insurmountable if neither Fields nor Andy Dalton can spark this offense. Upcoming matchups against the Lions and Raiders should help matters.
