DK Metcalf to race pro sprinters in 100m dash
DK Metcalf's speed will be on display Sunday at the USATF Golden Games and Distance Open.
The Seattle Seahawks wide receiver will be competing in the 100m dash against a group that includes 2016 Rio Olympian Mike Rodgers and Ronnie Baker, who currently ranks second in the United States with a time of 9.94 seconds, according to NBC Sports.
Metcalf, a hurdler in high school, hasn't said whether he's trying to qualify for the U.S. Olympic Trials in June, but he teased the possibility last year in response to a tweet from USA Track and Field.
Metcalf would likely need to break 10.2 seconds to qualify for the Trials. He would automatically qualify with a 10.05.
The 23-year-old had 83 receptions for 1,303 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, his second in the NFL.
