Julian Edelman announced the end of his impressive 12-year career Monday, and his peers, colleagues, and former teammates flooded social media with messages of appreciation.
Chief among them was Tom Brady. Edelman's quarterback of 11 years with the New England Patriots wrote an extensive message, feting the tough-nosed, three-time Super Bowl champion.
Other Patriots who shared the field with Edelman paid tribute to "Squirrel."
Been around a lot of players throughout my time in the NFL. All of them the best competitors. But none compares to @Edelman11 you were an inspiration early in my career, a hell of a freaking teammate and someone to call me brother for the rest of our lives. Congrats brother.
