The New York Giants and tight end Kyle Rudolph agreed to terms, he revealed Thursday to The MMQB's Albert Breer.
The deal is expected to contain a maximum value of around $14 million over two years, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Rudolph spent the last decade with the Minnesota Vikings but was released after turning down a pay cut. The Notre Dame product was held below 400 receiving yards in each of the last two seasons and had a career-low one touchdown in 2020.
The Giants already have an established tight end in Evan Engram, but he isn't as strong of a blocker as Rudolph. New York also likes to split Engram out wide, so it's conceivable the team could use more two-tight end sets with Rudolph in the fold.
Rudolph, 31, had his best statistical season in 2016, posting 83 receptions for 840 yards and seven touchdowns. He made the Pro Bowl in 2012 and 2017.
